Passion8

Quickstart

Create a Passion8 API key, check your balance and model permissions, then configure and verify the correct Base URL in Claude Code, Codex, Cline or Gemini.

Connect in three steps: register → create a key → configure the endpoint, key and model in your tool.

#Prepare your account and key

1

Register and sign in

Open passion8.cc/sign-up, register and sign in to the console.

2

Check your balance

New accounts need a balance before making requests. Follow the separate top-up and billing guide.

3

Create an API key

Open Console → Tokens and create an API key.

A key grants access to your balance. Keep it out of public repositories, screenshots and chat history. Use separate keys for tools and projects so you can revoke them independently.

#Choose your tool

With your key ready, follow the relevant guide:

#Endpoint reference

ToolBase URLAuthentication
Claude Code CLI / IDEhttps://passion8.ccANTHROPIC_AUTH_TOKEN environment variable
Claude Desktop chatNot a Passion8 model endpointMCP can connect tools, but does not replace the model backend
Codex CLI / official IDE extensionhttps://passion8.cc/v1OPENAI_API_KEY in ~/.codex/auth.json
Gemini CLIhttps://passion8.ccGEMINI_API_KEY in ~/.gemini/.env
Cline: GPT / Gemini / Grokhttps://passion8.cc/v1API Key in OpenAI Compatible settings
Cline: Claudehttps://passion8.ccAPI Key in Anthropic custom-URL settings
Grok Build CLIhttps://passion8.cc/v1api_key or env_key in ~/.grok/config.toml

Claude Code and Gemini CLI use a Base URL without /v1; Codex and Grok use the OpenAI-compatible endpoint with /v1. This is a common configuration mistake.

#Control costs next

After the first successful request, read Claude costs and caching for when to use /clear and /compact, and the difference between five-minute and one-hour caching.
